LED replacement emitter for the large star on the front of Mercedes Actros trucks. It replaces the original white emitter. These can only be used for stars that already have lights built in.
To mount this emitter, you will have to dissassemble the original logo, replace the emitter and then finally glue the parts together again. This takes about 30 minutes.
Dual color model
The dual color model has 2 x 6 high power LEDs, that light up in seperate colors. You cannot use the original connector, as there is a common ground, and a plus wire for each color. Mounting this is done like the others, except the wire, that is fed through the connector hole. The two colors are easiest controlled with a switch. Do not turn on both colors simultanious.
Instructions
Note A: The lamp-part is assembled with the logo with the 3 plastic-tabs that are bent out over the lamp-part. Straighten the plastic, then you can pull the two apart.
Note B: The clear plastic part and the white plastic part that the lamp-part consists of, are glued together with a black glue. Use a knife and a screwdriver to seperate the two parts. Be careful.
After this you can easily remove the original emitter and put the yellow one in. Before you glue the parts together again, you should remove the old glue. Logo and lamp parts are put back again, same way, as you took them apart.
